I still haven't been able to travel to Yellowstone, but you've given me a lot to look for once I'm there.
P.S. I agree with rattlesnakes being the lowest rung. ☺Caroline Clemmonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14914658854159456335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-47098179471499614422014-04-23T08:43:33.595-05:002014-04-23T08:43:33.595-05:00I'd never heard of this group before, and I...I'd never heard of this group before, and I'm fairly familiar with most of our native American tribes. They were such a small tribe, and apparently not warlike, it's a shame they couldn't be left in their ancient home.
Interesting post, Peggy. Fascinating people, and I love your use of their spiritual belief in the "Sky People" for the time travel aspect of your books.Lyn Hornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05596495172490672271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-69510572365190420962014-04-22T11:18:40.967-05:002014-04-22T11:18:40.967-05:00Peggy--I like the first person touch and personal ...Peggy--I like the first person touch and personal knowledge you give to your post. Here again, is a tribe I've never heard of, and I'd bet not many people like us have. I'm looking forward to your posts, hoping you do more about Yellowstone.
We were there several years ago in late spring with a bus tour, and the morning we left, they got us up early, rushed us through breakfast, and got us on the bus--all 44 of us. The reason? A late spring cold front was swooping down, and already blizzard like conditions had hit the northern part. We were driving south and before we go to the exit, there was a layer of snow. Half the bus were visitors from the UK, so the bus driver stopped and asked if anyone wanted to get out in the snow. All those from the UK did, the rest of us stayed on the bus. Then the bus driver began to make snowballs, and the wow, did they have fun! We wasted time and barely got out the exit before they closed all entrances and exits.
What fun that was. We stayed in the lodge with Old Faithful right there.
Loved all of Yellowstone we saw.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16272417114895975742noreply@blogger.com
