My grandmother grew up in that part of Texas and lived on a street near the Alamo and the river when she was a child. She became a wonderful story teller for me and my siblings, passing down the family history to us. She was a grand daughter of Judge Dwyer of San Antonio. I've only been a couple of times to the Alamo, but it gives me chills to walk inside those walls. Wishing you many happy readers!
JeanmarieJeanmarie Hamiltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08974232341270295299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-58452822424664590732010-12-14T03:25:19.362-06:002010-12-14T03:25:19.362-06:00Dac, thanks for being a guest here. What a great idea to write about a young man who escaped the battle. I can only imagine the emotional toll it took on him. I love stories that weave bits and pieces of history throughout the pages!Marin Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04337817734094294896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-24686215899367283722010-12-12T12:11:33.649-06:002010-12-12T12:11:33.649-06:00Wow, Dac, what an interview! From the way you answer her questions, it's obvious you are an intriguing author. I can't wait to read your books. Thanks so much for being the Sweethearts' guest today.Caroline Clemmonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14914658854159456335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-5543650143083849702010-12-12T08:27:04.059-06:002010-12-12T08:27:04.059-06:00Hi Dac,

I'm a good friend of Celia's (even though I hail from Oklahoma)LOL So glad to have you here on SWEETHEARTS OF THE WEST. Escape from the Alamo--very interesting premise. I would love to read that book. I've always been fascinated by the Alamo. My mom was the oldest of 11 kids in her family, and like your mother, she taught me and my sisters "family history" as well as the history of what was going on in the world at the time. She had some wonderful stories of her grandmothers and grandfathers, and things they talked about. I only wish I had written down the details. Thanks for being a guest here on SOTW. I would love to visit your blog--can you provide us with the address?
CherylCheryl Piersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18116526340220274282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-19837953022579164962010-12-12T08:24:32.171-06:002010-12-12T08:24:32.171-06:00Well, I've never seen your writing, but the ti...Well, I've never seen your writing, but the title drew me immediately. I'm a writer from the UK who grew up on Davy Crockett. My mother refused me a DC hat, saying a young girl didn't wear such things. In the end I became a norther plains re-enactor. Ha! That'll teach her.

The battle at the Alamo is very well known across here, and I really like your premise. Best of luck with it.Linda Acasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03096791092366530129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-56875155317760469452010-12-11T19:09:08.832-06:002010-12-11T19:09:08.832-06:00Good interview Dac. Been a fan for a long time and always follow what you have to say.
Should have put in the address of your blog, which is one of the most interesting and thoughtful on the Net.
