All I know about it is from others who have been there. I like that it has a coast on the Pacific.<br /><br />It is a wonderful thing that so many pioneers kept journals of their journey west. How else would we know the details of their lives and how they made it through the wilds to get to their destination.<br /><br />I get how hard it is to write western themed stories in a place where you don't live. I have written the Wilding series in Wyoming and I have to research everything from what grows there, to the lay of the land, to the weather. I was fortunate to have visited there years ago and thought it was a beautiful state.<br /><br />Wonderful blog. I enjoyed all the pictures, too.<br /><br />Sarah J. I agree. There is so much history in this sparsely populated side of the state. I don't come from generations of Oregonians, but having lived here all but 2 years of my life, I feel as if I am an Oregonian and also like to share the history if this state with readers.
