I checked the article where I got the information and they didn't specify how they 'blinded' the horse.Paisley Kirkpatrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06401039126457210324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-81219787996266288832012-05-03T02:41:28.757-05:002012-05-03T02:41:28.757-05:00Wonderful post, Paisley. How wonderful, the boy followed directions so loyally and saved the ranch for his family.
Fascinating, and once again...a story I've never heard.
Here in San Marcos there is a county road named Slaughter Lane. Near Austin, there is an overpass and road named Slaughter Road. I've always wondered about the name, but I bet it's named after this rancher. Most names of places and roads are named after real people. We just don't know who many of them are.

Thanks for this story--I love it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16272417114895975742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-88777017677236951072012-05-02T11:55:07.473-05:002012-05-02T11:55:07.473-05:00I was wondering if any of my Texan friends would r...I was wondering if any of my Texan friends would recognize the area where he rode. The daunting part of that task to me would be the miles and miles of lonely land the boy had to cross. It seems to me that even the land marks would have been few and very far between.
Thanks for a great story.Jeanmarie Hamiltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08974232341270295299noreply@blogger.com
