Shameful!

One famous Native American you didn't mention is Quanah Parker, the last Comanche (actually a half-breed) chief to surrender with his band at Fort Sill. He is buried there along with his mother, Cynthia Ann Parker and his baby sister Prairie Flower. Hubby and I visited their graves when I was researching my book, Dashing Irish, part of which is set in or near Fort Sill. We also stopped at Geronimo's grave, which is set some distance away from the main cemetery. I highly recommend visiting Fort Sill. The old fort has been fully maintained, while the modern portion is currently in use.Lyn Hornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05596495172490672271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-29623453364858292892016-09-05T06:37:22.233-05:002016-09-05T06:37:22.233-05:00Once I started the research, I kept thinking of an...Once I started the research, I kept thinking of another famous name I wanted to find out about. I realized the post was getting fairly long, so decided to leave a couple for next month. No matter how much we read about these legends, seems we can always learn a little something more! That's what makes our research so enjoyable. May all good things center around your universe too, Sarah!Cheri Kay Cliftonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06035609961825622472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1822452633282744192.post-75742364167660938712016-09-05T06:27:10.367-05:002016-09-05T06:27:10.367-05:00Glad you liked the post. I thought perhaps I knew how many died, but it appears I don't have such a good memory!
Thanks for this reminder, and I'll be looking forward to the next post about the "three special stories."
